These little critters are around year-round but they definitely are much more common in our fall/winter months. They are frequent visitors to the suet cage. They are quite willing to fly within a few feet of me to come and get their food.
I saw a "Great Tit" when I was in Scotland. Yes - they're about the same size and shape.. .just different colouring. Perhaps they are from the same great ancestor.
