Twisted Beauty of the White Pocket

The White Pocket Wilderness on the Paria Plateau is located within the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. The layers of White and Red Navajo sandstone appear to have solidfied while being contorted in various strange and interesting patterns.

The area is not a permitted area, but it is a long drive along some roads which in wet conditions are pretty slick and in dry conditions, very sandy... We didn't see a soul for the entire afternoon that we were in the area.

Thank you - your woodpecker comment will be wiped in a short bit. I have an app that auto deletes comments to that picture. SPAM almost daily on it.

The perspective really make the picture pop.

As for the woodpecker, I just find it a bit comical that even years later your picture is still holding that featured spot.

There's a way to auto-remove spam? Should I be checking my posts for spam?

I wrote an app that deletes any comments after the last one by spider. Because the picture has a prominent place, the comment spammers post 30 or so spam comments at a time. Easier to have the app do the work :)
