For the nerds: a test between the SMC Pentax-K/1.4 versus the Auto-Revuenon 55/1.4 in harsh lighting conditions. Here, the Pentax's SMC coating is clearly doing its work. The Auto-Revuenon (made by Tomioka) is an excellent lens, but only single coated resulting in less saturation, less contrast. The Tomioka lens was sold under many brand names: Rikenon, Revuenon, Sears, Chinon, Porst and i believe also Mamiya. If you're into low light or shallow dept-of-field photography: try to get hold of a multicoated (MC) version.
