I think I like this one best of the rosy boas. I've never seen this type of snake before. Sooo beautiful. I noticed they have blunted tails. Neat.
OK, question: I looked and looked at all these photos, how can you tell the male from the female? I couldn't find anything. I thought the shape of their heads was slightly different, but maybe it wasn't.
You had to check under her skirt, didn't you? Or was the skirt a dead giveaway?
LOL...on the blunt tails. These snakes spend an aweful lot of time looting packrat nests for babies and in the process they get the tips of the tails chewed off. Quite the price to pay for a meal but the snakes are fine.
Male have small spurs near the anal vents in most boids. These are no exception.
