The Bazaris have always played a very important role in Iran. Just like the American Business men at Wall Street, these merchants control the pulse of Iran's economy. The Shah's regime easily faced the demonstrators and strikers for months. However, it had to step down just a few days after the Bazari's declared their opposition both under the Mossadegh's (1950s) and Khomeini's (1979) leadership.

I took this shot with my Canonet loaded with Ilford XP2.
