After the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Shah and his family had to flee Iran and leave all their belongings behind. This included their numerous palaces as well as the furniture, which later disappeared. A few years later, the 'newly' installed government found them potentially lucrative and exhibited them to public. We were among the lucky ones who got to visit the Saad-Abad Palace.
