These days the news from Iran seem to overshadow the true beauty of this country ... Rather than contemplating the events as an outsider, I decided to play my part by sharing some of my older shots of the wonderful country that I used to know “a long time ago”. In 2004, I got the privilege to cross paths with a respectable tour guide while visiting Kerman. It took less than two museums for this older man to realize that my interest was more toward people than with antique objects. This is how we embarked in a 2-day tour of region through small villages and towns between Kerman and Yazd. He stopped at the first house of each village and introduced us as tourists visiting them. During this trip I got to appreciate the unequivocal Persian hospitality. All doors opened on our way, but none expected, nor accepted any compensation in return. Here is my tribute to all our anonymous hosts. I can’t feel by nostalgic of this trip after all these years. Revisiting these photos revives the souvenir and makes me cope with the current news. Hoping you would feel the same …

These series are from the village of Meimand, with a few dozen inhabitants, at about 3 hours of the small town of Rafsanjan.
