So sad that they started the badger cull today.
300 000 to be killed.
I can't understand the mentality behind this.

Lovely picture of a wonderful creature.

I agree Stu, such a beautiful creature, there must be a better way of dealing with the cattle TB issue, perhaps vaccination.

Indeed, but they say it's not cost effective.
I hate them for this, it makes me really angry, they don't even know if the badgers they are killing have TB or not, to be honest I don't think they even care.

I agree too - the cull makes no sense!

They are starting a cull near here - very sad.

I love your picture btw!

A fantastic series Tony !! I think each country has difficulties to manage with the one or the other animal !! We have problems at the moment with wolfs and bears in the mountains............

As Papagena states...every country has their animal problems. In Florida, USA
they have a rattlesnake period of time to round them up and also an alligator hunt
There seems to be pros and cons for each event...I have never had an encounter with either
But these little badgers -, wonder really how much damage they cause. And then what happens when they are killed...there must be some disposal plan...and is
that cost effective???
A beautiful photo...

They are beautifull!! I don't know if they live in Holland... I would love to see them.... in Holland they plan to kill a lot of fallow deer in a huge area in the wetsern part. They say that these beautiful animals are destroying the gardens of the houses in that area.... such a shame!

Thanks for sharing this special series!!

Wonderful photo,Tony, and I too am really upset about the cull - cruel and pointless.
