I remember seeing an orange one back in the mid-70s in the town I grew up in. I think, aside from this one, I've seen one in the past decade. This was at an estate sale I went to today. It's going to be posted on eBay. I'll have to watch for it. (There's a restored one on eBay now for $910.)
Whoa! I should have been at that estate sale with you! Was the place stuffed with other goodies? I bought some LPs today at a garage sale: Journey and Teddy Pendergrass and another one.... ;-)
I think you would've loved it, JP! The guy was an engineer and a Ford guy. His house was PACKED with tools, car magazines, auto brochures, and tons of other stuff from the last five decades. I got a few things (some auto-related, some not) that I'm going to resell on eBay. Everything's 50% off on Sunday, so I'll see what else has surfaced. PLUS - there's a Lustron home for sale right down the street. I'm hoping there'll be an open house.
Wow. That's awesome ~ everything you wrote. I wish I could go with you! We'd have fun poking through everything. Take the seats out of the minivan ~ we're bring a big load home!
Went back today - I was surprised how much sold yesterday. I got a few more things... some to keep, some to sell. Spent about $20 total; I'm anticipating 10x that on eBay. We'll see!!
