This is something that you won't see in Tokyo. Only in Osaka!? (I saw one in Kyoto though...) Do you see a pole in the center of the handle of this bycicle? Almost every Osaka womem (relatively over 40's) has this pole, called "Sasubei", install in their bycicle. If you have this "Sasubei", you can set up an umbrella or parasol.
"Sasubei" is one of the most popular items for Mother's Day as a gift.

When my friend, who is originally from Brazil and lives in NYC, he found "Sasubei" in Kyoto, figuored it out what it was for, and laughed to death!!!
