You know I sometimes upload pictures from the Footballteam of my hometown FC.Twente. (second last year of the Dutch league)

Since a few months they were expanding the Stadium because the Club has so many supporters. The extra part was almost finished. The new competition will start half of August.

This morning the new part collapsed!! One man was killed and about 16 were (serious) injured.... They are still surching for more people under the fallen roof.... Such a tragedy!!

Because my office is just 200 metres from the Stadium I saw the tragedy just after it happend. I am working on the 6th floor. Lots of fireman, policeman and even the Trauma-helicopter came to help the wounded workers

This is a picture I have uploaded from the Internet!

What a terrible tragedy, let's hope & prey that the death toll remains at just one & that all the injured will make full recovery's.
I have been to that stadium, as well as other's in Holland (I am a serious football fan), The only consulation that will come out of this tragedy is that after all the enquiries etc. building will continue, but this time the Health & Safety watch will be so vigorous that all future users of the stadium will be gauranteed a very safe place to watch the game's.

Lets hope so, Peter! It was terrible to watch it all nearby... we were all in shock....

So you have visited this stadium? It was build in 1998, so it is rather new. They put an extra part on it after the season 2009/2010 and where almost finished with the second part.

It is suggested that a crane was fallen on the roof, but its not clear yet at the moment.....
