Georges-Eugène Baron Haussmann - Parijs, 27 maart 1809 – 11 januari 1891 was given the order by Napoleon III to make the city of Paris to a modern city. He changed the roads into Avenues and linked them with the railwaystations. He builded le Gare du Nord and le Gare du Nord. He laid out the Bois de Bologne and destructed a lot of nice old houses to build new and bigger ones. These houses can be regognized by a balcony on the second and on the fifth floor.
