A dad and his son enjoy "surströmming"(sour Baltic herring) that is an Swedish delicacy. (And one of the world's strangest dishes!)
Surströmming may not be exported to the U.S. and elsewhere as it is classified as rotten food!!!

Haha, yes it is certainly something you get in the breast milk. Perhaps as the Greenlanders eat raw meat from seals.

In the Netherlands we have our delicious so-called "rolmops" (my dictionary translates it as Bismarck herring or collared herring). These are rolled-up herrings marinated in spiced vinegar. I wonder whether it is similar to "Surströmming".

When I was at secondary school (age about 14) we had cookery classes and Rollmop Herring was the first dish we had to prepare....put me off for life!!!!
Carring raw Herring in an old biscuit tin on the bus to school!
