Schollenberger Park, on the marshlands where the Petaluma River meets the San Francisco Bay, is a nice example of making room for nature in a semi-urban landscape. The business park on the far side is mostly non-industrial: software, telecomm, FedEx and USPS shipment centers... This marsh is part of a larger reclamation project around the entire bay, preserving and restoring marshlands that, for the most part, have flooded any attempts to "tame" them anyway. And the birds, evidently, love it.

It's a special place, and I enjoyed my visit there. A great place to have a nice walk!
